I am a pianist that have performed world wide as soloist with orchestras such as Detroit Symphony, National Symphony, Japan Philharmonic, Orchestra de la Suisse Romande, Singapore Symphony, Osaka Philharmonic and many more.
Now settled in Princeton, NJ, I have started a new concert series, The Princeton Chamber Music Series, and I am happy to announce that my new Piano Studio opens up.

“Really recommend Per as an excellent teacher, inspiration and world class pianist. If you have the chance and live close take it!“
“I also recommend Per as a teacher for serious minded pianists. He watches my hands and finds out my weaknesses and teaches me to work on building strength and dexterity so I can play more challenging piano pieces.”
I enjoy teaching adults as well as kids, and while I obviously can teach at high levels (preparing competitions), all levels are welcome. In fact, one of the students that signed up is an adult who never played before, and I think that project will be exciting!
Although I will tailor the teaching to the needs and ambitions to the students, there will always be a focus on:
- Learning Process: how to practice, and how to be consistent even if you have a busy life.
- Technique: how to achieve physical freedom at the instrument to be able to connect with the music and perform it without tension. Technique is the “money” you have and can use to play the music you love.
- Musical understanding and insight: after all, the music is the end goal, why we play. It is a world full of wonders, and my promise to you as a student is to always try to open as many doors as possible into this magical world!
Practical info
I can teach both in-person and also give virtual lessons.
Lesson will be weekdays from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
I will teach from a piano studio (not my home) in Princeton, NJ, there is ample parking, a grand piano in a quiet area, and it is in a fantastic building.
Lessons can be had 30, 45, or 1 hour (for advanced students that want longer lessons, that is obviously an option too).
In my life, I have been lucky to get insight, wisdom and knowledge from some of the best professors in the world such as Leon Fleisher and Dmitry Bashkirov. I am looking forward to passing this along to the next generation, as well as my own thoughts on how to practice, learn music by heart, technique as a basis of music making as well as being completely injury free (injuries by overuse in playing the wrong way is a serious issue).

Here are three videos with how I explain the basics of piano technique. A good start and solid basics are very important. All my students will get free access to a library with hours of instructional videos.
